Here is a stupendous trailer by YouTube user whoiseyevan. This guy combined many clips of old movies into the 60s "Up". Besides, whoiseyevan has created an amazing fake “Premakes” series which shows movies were made before they were made;)

Elephants Dream In 3D

Elephants Dream is the world’s first open source movie, originally released in 2006, it was made almost completely using the free and open source 3D graphics software - Blender.

It's a story about two main characters are on a journey in the folds of a giant Machine, exploring the twisted and dark complex of wires, gears and cogs. Until one moment a conflict arises that throws out all their assumptions. This movie short couples lively fun with passionate characters in an epic story line.

Ubuntu is definitely nowadays's most popular Linux distribution. You could get about 63,000,000 results from Google, to be sure, this number will be larger. And I don't think you can find out another distribution that has so many results via Google.

Although some Linux users do not like it. For some reasons like Ubuntu is just based on the Debian GNU/Linux, its contribution on Linux and open source community is not large or something else.

As a ordinary user, Ubuntu has given me a good user experience, I think this distribution is doing very well just like the Ubuntu philosophy says. So I'll always do something to promote it.

Sintel - Blender Foundation's Latest Free And Open Source Film

Blender is an open source, cross platform 3D creation suite, just like 3ds Max and Maya, the two most obvious and popular packages but blender is a freeware. "Sintel" is an independently produced short film, initiated by the Blender Foundation as a means to further improve and validate this 3D creation suite.

Sintel means a dragon land in this short animation. It is a fantastic epic movie, a story that tells about a gril and a dragon. Below is several screenshots.

Inspired by a street violinist playing Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major, a deaf gril learns to play the violin and at last the gril made it. The ad shows us a chrysalis opening to reveal a butterfly.  Or that it is not just an ad.
It's more like a beautiful fairy tales.
